Dont freak out over printer reviews- all the printers- Canon, HP and Epson have some bad reveiws. All printers break sometimes. I have had this printer for one month, printing about 10 pages a day. It has worked perfectly. The touch screen is definately big enough to push the buttons. It prints fast. I love the look of it. I have used the scanner multiple times- great. I have used the scanner sheet feeder once- worked perfect. It does two sided printing if you check that in the box on your computer when you print. Once you click on that- it does it automatically the next time. Nice. Yesterday it lost contact with my mac and pc... but epson has a software utility that shows up and fixes it. So with minimal fussing it got reconnected. Much better wifi connection than the canon that it is replacing (which once it lost connection with my mac- I couldnt ever get it back). I run both pc and mac in my house- and this epson connects with them both just fine.
Finally (and most important?) this printer looks very futuristic like something from star wars that will print out body parts if you need them. Very medical looking.
After about 300 pages, the ink levels have hardly changed... wow. -

Had an ancient Epson R280 that was showing its age. In last couple years I started buying generic cartridges which, although relatively inexpensive, seemed to be poorer quality ink and ran out more quickly. With so many printer choices out there, decided to give this one a try. Have been watching the Ecotank models since they were released and the notion of paying a little more upfront for hardware and rarely buying ink was super appealing. Setup was easy enough on my wireless network, print quality is great, and speed is plenty fast. Based on our normal relatively low household usage, I predict it came with enough ink for 3 years of printing. Refill of all colors seems to run about $60 which feels totally reasonable for covering 2-3 years of printing. At this point we've been using for the past three months and overall are extremely pleased. -
