I wanted to replace my Lawrence Hook 7 in, and after lots of investigation decided to go with Garmin. Garmin had less complaints about service than Lawrence and Hummingbird did. It is a beautiful unit and the 9inch screen is about the same physical size as my old 7inch Lawrence was. This has a touch screen or you can use the buttons. It's has sonar, navigation, downscan and side scan plus clear view, a new look for accuracy on sonar. The transducer is a little bigger and so is the transducer mount so you may have to change your mount a little higher like I did. There are all kinds of user friendly things you can do with this and it will change the way you fish. The lake maps that are built into this unit are very good so you will not have to upgrade to a new map. With Active Captain the App associated with Garmin you can update the map and software when you need to.You will have to buy a micro SD card for this. It also works if you go to a smaller lake that is not built into the maps on the unit. You can then map it yourself to the SD card for future use. The display on this unit includes the time of day and the voltage of the battery which is nice. Water temp and boat speed and other stuff as well. I like this unit and have had no problems with it. You need to go to UTUBE to learn how to use some of this stuff like side scan but it's worth it. This unit was around a $1000 dollars but you get the best transducer and maps for the money. Read carefully whats included before you buy one . There are lots of variations that may not have everything you want. -

I like the fact that once you set up your update and active Captin you can easily navigate around the screen. I was very impressed with the ability to see your lure drop right down to your targeted fish
However I would like to add a livescope unit to it for even better action -
